If you had asked the Israelites how Jericho would fall, none of them would have said, “We’ll walk around it\… for a week.”
It made no tactical sense. There were no battering rams, no siege towers, no surprise attack. Just quiet steps, trumpets, and waiting. God didn’t ask them to fight—He asked them to obey. And their obedience was the fight.
Every lap around those walls was a thread.
They couldn’t see it, but heaven was working. The miracle wasn’t just in the fall of the wall—it was in the faith it took to keep walking when nothing was happening. Obedience became the way God measured their trust, not their strength.
Too often we want the walls to fall before we obey. We want confirmation before we take the first step. But what if the miracle is *on the other side* of obedience?
What if the seventh day only makes sense after the sixth? What if the shout only matters because of the silence that came before it?
God weaves miracles through surrendered hearts. The Israelites didn’t bring the wall down. God did. But He wove their faith, their waiting, their circling, and their willingness to look foolish into the breakthrough.
And He still does.
Maybe you’re walking circles around something right now—something that feels unmoved, unresponsive, impossible. Keep walking. Not because your steps are powerful, but because your obedience places you in the path of God’s power.
Miracles often wait just on the far side of surrendered faith.
