“We walk by faith, not by sight.” 2Corinthians 5:7
You thought it would look different by now.
You thought you\’d feel more accomplished. You thought the pain would be behind you. You thought the relationships would be healed, the prayers answered, the outcomes clearer.
But now, near the end of the road, some things still don’t make sense. And maybe they never will—this side of glory.
Finishing well isn’t about tying everything up with a neat bow. It’s about trusting the One who knows the full story even when we don’t. Paul lived this tension. He suffered beatings, betrayals, and shipwrecks. He planted churches—and saw some of them turn against him. He longed to visit believers again—and was imprisoned instead. Yet near the end of his life, he didn’t say, “I figured it all out.” He said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).
That’s the finish line God values—not perfect understanding, but enduring trust.
Some prayers won’t be answered the way you hoped. Some stories won’t resolve the way you imagined. Some good desires may remain unfulfilled. But your Shepherd knows every step. And when you see Him face to face, nothing will feel incomplete.
So keep walking by faith—not by what you feel, not by what you see, and not by what others say you should have accomplished.
Keep walking because God is walking with you. And He is the reward at the end.
