The story feels like a divine interruption.
Philip was in the middle of a revival in Samaria—miracles, salvations, crowds. But suddenly, the Spirit told him to leave it all behind and go to a desert road. No explanation. No agenda. Just a prompting.
And there, on that deserted stretch of wilderness, he met a single man: an Ethiopian official, riding in a chariot, reading the scroll of Isaiah.
A man hungry for God. Confused by the words. Ready for the gospel. And God had already orchestrated the encounter.
The Spirit had stirred the Ethiopian’s heart. A scroll had made its way into his hands. His questions were burning when Philip showed up. The chariot slowed. The Word was opened. Jesus was preached. And a soul was changed.
This was more than a moment. It was a thread—one that would carry the gospel into Ethiopia, planting seeds that would ripple across continents.
God doesn’t waste steps. He weaves paths, people, hunger, and Scripture into intersections that only make sense when we see the larger tapestry. Philip obeyed a seemingly random instruction, and heaven was waiting on the other end.
Sometimes the miracles aren’t just in what happens—but in *who you’re placed near*. The co-worker with questions. The stranger in the waiting room. The friend whose guard suddenly drops. You might not know the whole story—but God does.
And you may be the thread that ties someone else to Him.

Lord, open my ears to Your Spirit’s leading—even when it doesn’t make sense. Use me to be a living thread in someone else’s story, and let me trust that no conversation is too small for Your purpose.
