“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
There are moments in suffering when the weight feels unbearable—when each step forward takes all the strength you have left, and even that feels borrowed. These are the times when Jesus’ invitation comes like water to a parched soul: “Come to Me.”
He doesn’t tell the weary to toughen up or to carry their load alone. He calls us to Himself. In the verses that follow, He says, “Take My yoke upon you…for My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:29–30). This doesn’t mean life will suddenly be free from hardship, but that when we are yoked to Him, He carries the weight in a way we never could.
Paul experienced this sustaining strength when he heard the Lord say, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). The burden may not shrink, but God’s grace enlarges our capacity to bear it. And more than that—He walks with us under the load, ensuring it will never crush us.
If the weight feels too heavy today, remember that you were never meant to carry it alone. Bring it honestly to Him—your fears, your exhaustion, your questions—and let Him shoulder what you cannot. His rest is not escape from the storm but peace within it.

Prayer Prompt
Lord, I can’t carry this burden alone. Teach me to come to You daily, to find rest in Your presence, and to trust that Your strength will be enough for what lies ahead.
