“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so
prove to be My disciples.” — John 15:8
We tend to think of fruit as something we see. Something we can count, hold, or measure. But much of the fruit God is producing through your life may not ripen until long after you\’re gone.
Jesus said the Father is glorified when we bear much fruit. But He also made clear where that fruit comes from: abiding. Staying close to Him. Resting in Him. Trusting Him. Obeying Him—even when the results aren\’t immediate.
Finishing well isn’t just about how your life looks at the end. It’s about what your life leaves behind.
You may never see the fullness of your influence. The prayer you prayed in secret may shape someone else’s legacy. The quiet integrity you modeled may become someone else\’s standard. The words you spoke in love may echo in a child or grandchild’s heart for decades.
Consider Abraham. God promised that his descendants would be like the stars—and yet, he died having seen only Isaac. But he died believing. And his faith still bears fruit today.
Your impact may seem small now. But a seed planted in Christ never dies. If you remain full of sap—connected to the Vine, rooted in the Word, alive in the Spirit—you are bearing fruit, even if you can’t yet see it.
The fruit that glorifies God is not measured by visibility—but by obedience, endurance, and abiding.
Keep loving. Keep praying. Keep sowing.
God is not unjust to forget your labor. And in due time—whether here or in eternity—your fruit will be revealed.
